Episode 6 - IVF: The Essential Guide for Men - featuring Dr Tim Child
On this episode of The Male Fertility Podcast, Shaun and Ciaran are joined by leading expert in fertility, Dr Tim Child.
Having previously focused heavily on male infertility, what that means, the treatments available, and how to process it - the conversation around what happens next is a crucially important one for the podcast.
Ciaran and Shaun talk to Dr Child about the process of IVF, from the initial tests your doctor will do beforehand, right through to embryo transfer. We discuss what 'long' and 'short' protocols are, and whether one is better than the other, as well as key do's and don'ts for the egg collection and embryo transfer days.
Shaun and Ciaran talk about how they felt when going through IVF, from the partner's perspective, and Dr Child shares the important ways in which men can support their partners through this stage.
Tim and the lads also talk about PGT-A and PGT-M, what they mean and what the potential benefits are of going through the procedures.
